I have known Mark and Matt for a while.  And nothing honored me more than shooting their wedding at the English Inn.  It was a small wedding filled with friends, family and love.

Annie and Jeff

Annie and Jeff were married at St. Rita Catholic Church in with their reception at Sauk Valley in Brooklyn, Michigan.  Theirs was a love story that started when they were little.  It was beautiful getting to witness the union of two best friends.  Cheers!

Sarah and Brian

DSC_1995bw

I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah and Brian before their wedding to do an engagement shoot.  Their pure joy of being next to one another is refreshing.   Sometimes they just sit next to each other and giggle.  It is beautiful.  Really beautiful.

The two were married at the gorgeous Bay City Hall, followed by a fantastic reception in downtown Bay City.  It is nothing but a pleasure being around the two.  They exude love and friendliness.

Julie and James

James and Julie were married, surrounded by friends and family, during an intimate wedding ceremony in Grand Ledge’s Fitzgerald Park.  The two wrote their own vows, Julie singing hers with much laughter and joy.  The reception followed at The Opera House.DSC_8229DSC_8010DSC_8051DSC_8075DSC_8118DSC_8218DSC_8248DSC_8284DSC_8334DSC_8402DSC_8429DSC_8535DSC_8582DSC_8737DSC_8697DSC_8777DSC_8917DSC_8866DSC_9013DSC_9033DSC_9280DSC_9243DSC_9387DSC_9316DSC_9536DSC_9521DSC_9058

Heather and Luis

I think if I sometime renew my vows with my husband of seventeen years, I would like it to be like Heather and Luis’s wedding.  The ceremony and reception were held at Cherry Barc Farm in Vermontville.  The property is rustic and gorgeous.  There were even some chickens running around!  The two were wed under a beautiful old tree, surrounded by a small group of people who love them dearly.  Heather wore the veil worn by her grandmother and mother.  The wedding was catered by El Oasis.  Now, if you are from the Lansing area, you know they make the best Mexican food around.  Heather and Luis’s story started some ten years ago.  Here is to a life of happiness!DSC_1466DSC_2477DSC_1522DSC_1438DSC_1578DSC_1593DSC_1832DSC_1892DSC_1989DSC_2223

Jessica and Lance

_DSC0223

I had the pleasure of meeting Jessica and Lance for an engagement session before shooting their wedding.  They are an fun-loving, sweet and very down to Earth.  The two were married in Jackson, Michigan and had their reception at Sandhill Crane Vineyards in Jackson, Michigan.  No dancing.  Just incredible wine, tapas and laughter.

The other day I had the honor of photographing a welcome new addition to this world.  Isabella is a beautiful little girl.  Hope you enjoy the images.

I love the juxtaposition of such a little girl on her father's arm.

I have been shooting lately, I am just having a hard time finding the time to post my entries.  I am going to (hopefully) post some images I’ve shot in the last few weeks over the next few days.  Life has certainly been an adventure the last few weeks!

Got lucky a week or so ago and the whole family went for a walk in the beautiful morning fog.

A beautiful day at Rose Lake

Vincent was out of work early one day this week so we decided to take advantage of it and head out to Rose Lake for a hike.  I think it has been almost two years since we have been out there which is very sad because we used to go out there almost every day.  It was beautiful with the changing leaves and fresh air.Milk WeedPabloLeaves

Went home to North Street….

Pablo and I headed to my parents house for a few days last week.   It had been far too long since we’ve been home and we thought it would be nice to give Vincent a few nights of solid sleep.  We had a great time visiting with eachother and playing with the dogs.  My parents have Patches and my sister Lori has three dogs, Surf, Ursula and Tonka.  Mom cooks in her kitchen.

Making up for lost time!

Pablo attended his first Halloween Party at his great-grandmother’s place….dressed as none other than Pablo the Penguin from the Backyardigans.  He’ll definitely go to therapy for this :)  The second set of photos is from my sister Jill’s home.  The kids were picking pears.  It was a beautiful fall day.

I have never heard great-grandma laugh so hard as when she spent time with Pablo on Saturday. There is something so beautiful about the young and old together.

A Great Blue Heron

What I like about living in my neighborhood is that even though I live in the middle of the city, I still feel like I live in the country. Driving to a photo exhibit by Michael Coles at the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities I saw this Great Blue Heron in the pond around the corner from my home.  More on Coles’ photography at http://www.mcolesphoto.com/.

Vincent likes this shot better. I'm for the next one. What do you think?

Changing Seasons

Along with the launch of my new website, I am (hopefully) shooting and adding at least one image daily. Please check back often and let me know what you think.
Today I strapped Pablo to my back and we headed off into our backyard.

This first image, the vibrant red leaves, was shot on the side of my home. I love the muted light.

The spider in the flower was in my neighbors garden (please, don’t tell). I honestly can’t stand spiders, but I love to photograph them.

The pine needles were on the other side of my home. Once again, I love the play of light and the graphic nature of the image.
